The **Domains** tab connects a brand to addresses you own. There are two, they're
independent, and you can use either without the other.

## Publishing on your own address

By default your customs are served from a Custom One address. Set a **custom
domain** on the brand and they're published on yours instead.

It has to be a subdomain — `quiz.yourdomain.com`, not `yourdomain.com` — because
you almost certainly want your root domain to keep serving your website.

Save the brand first: the DNS record is generated on save. You'll then get one
record to add at your DNS provider, with **Copy all records** to take it in one
go. Once it's in place, **Re-check records** confirms it, and the tab shows
**Verified**.

## Sending email from your own domain

Follow-up emails go out from a Custom One address unless you give the brand an
**email sending domain**. With one set, the emails your customs send come from
you.

Sending domains are added and verified once for the whole workspace, in
**Workspace settings → Email Domains**, and then picked here. If the list is empty, use
**Add or verify a domain** to set the first one up.

This one needs four DNS records rather than one, and verification is confirmed by
our email provider rather than by us — so it can take a little longer to go green
after you've added them.

## While you're waiting

Both domains show their records as a table with a **Status** column: *Waiting…*
until the record is visible, *Found* once it is. The tab itself carries a dot
while anything is still pending, and shows when it was last checked.

DNS changes are not instant — minutes is normal, and some providers take longer.
If a record still hasn't been found after a few hours, it's usually worth
checking it was added to the right domain and that nothing was auto-appended to
the host value.
