**Quiet hours** stop a result landing on somebody's phone at three in the
morning. You set a window and a timezone; anything due inside the window waits
until the window ends.

It's off on a custom you start from scratch — one made from a template or
duplicated keeps that one's setting. Turn it on and the window is already set to
22:00–08:00, **Paris (CET/CEST)**.

## Setting the window

**Quiet hours** is a switch under **Scheduling**, below **Send after** — click
the wait on the timeline to open it. Turn it on and it asks for **From** and
**To** times and a **Timezone** from the list.

The window can run overnight — 22:00 to 08:00 is the default and behaves the
way you'd expect, holding everything from ten at night until eight the next morning.

## One timezone, not each person's own

The window is measured in the timezone you pick, for everybody. It isn't
adapted to where each person happens to be.

So choose the timezone most of your audience lives in. If they're spread across
the world, quiet hours protects some of them and shifts the rest — in that case
a wider window, or none at all, is often the more honest setting.

## Which messages it holds

The **video delivery** and the **delivery SMS**.

The **instant reply** is never held. It's the note saying their answers
arrived, sent the moment they're in, and holding it until morning would leave
someone wondering all night whether anything went through.

## It applies after the wait

The wait is worked out first, then quiet hours is applied to the result.

Someone who finishes at 21:30 with a two-hour wait would be due at 23:30 —
inside the window — so they're held and receive it at 08:00. Someone who
finishes at 09:00 with the same wait is due at 11:00 and is unaffected.

That ordering means lengthening a wait can push messages into the quiet window
that weren't there before, and they'll arrive the following morning instead.
