Deleting a scene, or changing what its clips branch on, never destroys a
recording. Takes that no longer have a slot move to the **Footage bin**, which
appears at the top of the tab with a count as soon as it holds anything. So does
a take you remove with **Delete this version**.

## Putting a take back

Open it, pick a recording, and **Reuse this clip** attaches it wherever you want:
choose which scene it belongs to, then which clip it fills, and press
**Attach clip**. If that slot already holds a take, the old one goes back to the
bin rather than being overwritten.

You can also start from the other end: open a clip, and **Use an unassigned
recording** lists what is in the bin.

This is also the safety net behind **Sync with result pages**, in the **…** menu,
which lines your scenes up with the modules on your pages. It says how
many scenes it will add, how many it will remove, and how many recordings move to
the bin before it does anything.

## Deleting a recording for good

The bin keeps a take until you delete it yourself. **Delete**, in the **Reuse this
clip** window, removes the recording permanently — you can't undo it.
