There is no way to delete a single clip, and that is deliberate. A scene's clips
are not a list you edit — they are worked out from what the scene **plays for**.
A question with five answers means five clips to record.

So you do not remove a clip. You change the thing that created it. (The one
exception is a scene set to **Custom conditions**, where you write each clip's
conditions yourself and can delete one there.)

## Have fewer of them

From least filming to most:

- **Everyone**, in the scene's **Plays for** chip — one clip and you are done.
Right for anything that does not really change per person: a welcome, a
  sign-off.
- **Group answers** — keep the branching, film less of it. Hover the scene, open
**Scene settings**, check the clips that can share a take and press **Group**
(the button shows how many you picked). Each group becomes one clip instead of
each answer, so *Beginner* and *Curious* can share a take.
- **Edit the question** — if it offers more choices than your video needs,
changing the question changes the scene. The clips follow.

Grouping is usually the one you want. It keeps the personalisation a visitor
notices and drops the clips nobody could tell apart.

## Or leave the scene out

A scene made from a module on your pages can be skipped instead. In
**Scene settings**, press **Delete scene**, and the dialog offers **Don't record**.
The scene stays in the row marked *Excluded from recording*, stops counting toward
your filming progress, and will not hold up publishing. **Restore** on the card
puts it back whenever you want.

Other scenes have no **Don't record**, and don't need it. A scene that follows
your questions or scores is the simpler setup: you record its clips and they map
to the answers and scores you already have, with no module to keep in step. If
you no longer want one, **Delete scene** removes the scene and its settings for
good.

## Nothing you filmed is thrown away

Whenever the clips change, takes that no longer have a slot go to the
[footage bin](/en/customs/record/the-footage-bin/), and you are told how many
before you confirm. You can reattach them later.

:::note[**Delete this version** does something else]
The red **Delete this version** button on a recorded clip removes the **take** and
sends it to the footage bin. The clip itself stays, empty, waiting to be filmed
again. Reach for it when you want to replace a take, not when you want one fewer
clip.
