**Workspace settings → Team** is where you invite people into your workspace and control
what they can reach. The page itself is headed *Members*.

Everyone you invite joins the workspace, not a single custom — there's no way to
give someone access to one custom and not another.

## Inviting someone

Click **Invite Member**, enter their email address, pick a role and click
**Send Invitation**. They get a link by email. They don't need a Custom One
account yet: someone new signs up from the link, with their address already
filled in.

Until they accept they sit in the pending list, and nothing is shared with them
yet. You can **Resend** the invitation from there, or cancel it. An invitation
nobody accepts expires after 30 days.

Only the owner and admins can invite. Inviting teammates comes with every paid
plan: on the free plan the button prompts you to upgrade, and that's your plan
rather than your role.

## The four roles

| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| **Owner** | Everything, including the plan and billing. The owner is whoever pays for the workspace |
| **Admin** | Runs the workspace: customs, brands, team, domains. Can't see or change billing |
| **Member** | Creates and manages content: builds customs, records, **publishes**, edits brands, sees contacts and stats |
| **Guest** | View only |

The one people get wrong is Member. A Member isn't a reviewer — they can build a
custom and take it live. What they can't do is delete customs or brands, or run
the workspace itself: no inviting, no domains, no billing.

An Admin is the owner without the money. They can invite and remove people and
manage domains, but the **Billing** tab stays greyed out for them, as it does for
everyone except the owner.

Guests can look at customs, brands, media and stats, and change none of it.

## The owner is whoever pays

Every workspace has exactly one owner: the person whose plan pays for it. It's
not a role you hand out. Nobody can be invited as owner or switched to owner, and
the owner can't be given another role or removed.

The owner changes only when someone else takes over the billing. On the plans
that include it, the owner sends a transfer from **Workspace settings → Workspaces →
Transfers**. When the other person accepts, they become the owner, and the
previous owner stays on as an admin. See
[Handing a workspace's billing over](/en/settings/plan-and-billing/handing-billing-to-a-client/).

## Changing someone's role

Use the **Edit** button on their row and pick a different role. Only the owner
can make someone an admin. Admins can change the role of members, guests and
other admins.

## Removing someone

Use the remove button on their row and confirm. Removing a member ends their
access immediately, and there's no undo: invite them again if you need them
back. The owner can't be removed.

Customs they built stay in the workspace. Nothing belongs to a person.
